Tasting Notes:

The Twinwoods Estate Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a bold and beautifully structured museum release Cabernet from one of Australia’s premier wine regions. This wine showcases rich, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon characters, backed by the finesse of fine French oak.

The nose is layered with dark berry fruits, dark chocolate, and subtle oak spice. On the palate, it delivers a deep, complex core of ripe blackcurrant, plum, and chocolate, with a silky mouthfeel and a long, elegant finish. The mid-palate is especially lush, supported by smooth, ripe tannins and excellent balance and structure.

Highly awarded, this 2018 vintage has been rated 95 points and 5 stars by Sam Kim (Wine Orbit), and 93 points by Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot). As a museum release Margaret River Cabernet, it offers exceptional value and drinking pleasure for lovers of aged, premium Australian reds.

Technical:

The Margaret River wine region of Western Australia is now recognized as one of the Australia’s finest wine producing regions. The small boutique winery, Twinwoods, is a young but rising star in the region. The wines are true to the region, showing bright and fresh aromas, with focused fruit flavours. The Twinwoods Estate Vineyard is located on the south eastern catchment of Wilyabrup creek in the locality of Cowaramup. As such it is approximately 30 kilometres north of the Margaret River town-ship and in what is regarded as the prime growing area for Cabernet Sauvignon.

"A class effort from Margaret River, the colour here is an opaque maroon. This is taut, poised, tight and appealingly aromatic. Dried herbs, tobacco leaves, soy, dark chocolate, black fruits and beefstock – all very Cabernet. A wine of medium length, fine tannins and good structure, there is evidence of early complexity here. A life of at least eight to ten years ahead of it."
