Greenock Estate Growers Reserve Cabernet Shiraz 2015 is a cellar-aged Barossa gem, expertly balancing the bold structure of Cabernet with the richness of Shiraz. Selected from old vine fruit and matured for 18 months in French oak, this 95 Point Rated wine (Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot) delivers power and elegance in equal measure.

Opening with deep notes of black tea, squid ink, and dark chocolate, the nose is enriched by ripe plum, savoury mushroom, and a whisper of black pepper spice. The palate is full-bodied yet beautifully composed—layered with Christmas cake, cloves, and juicy black fruits, all wrapped in silky, well-integrated tannins. Traditional hand-crafted winemaking and family-grown fruit have created a wine with richness, depth, and seamless length.

A superb museum release and ideal pairing with grilled meats, game dishes or roasted mushrooms.

"Fascinating to compare two such delightful examples of the Barossa at its best. For me, this offers a colour that is marginally fresher, with deeper reds, but as is so often the way, the preference in the end will be personal. There is but a whisker between them. It does seem that there might be more than a year between them, but then the decision falls to whether one enjoys developed reds or slightly fresher samples. Or both. Bright raspberries, coffee grinds, licorice notes and cloves topped with beefstock and bay leaves. This is supple, seamless, balanced and focused with good length. An exceptional effort from the Barossa. Silky tannins too and it has benefited from the time it has already spent maturing and has more ahead of it. Again, under cork with the weighty bottle."
