Tasting Notes

The Hardys HRB Pinot Gris is pale straw with green tinges. Intense aromas of apple blossom, pear and lime. Delicate flavours of Pink Lady apple and Nashi Pear, with a complex creamy mid palate and a mineral textured finish.

Accolades & Awards

91 Point Rated - James Halliday Wine Companion

"Bin D658 Tasmania Adelaide Hills. Yes, this is a distinct cut above the norm, with greater intensity to the varietal pear and apple flavours, which intensifies as the wine moves from the fore-palate to the strongly shaped finish. But the average consumer of pinot gris is unlikely to cough up the money to assess its worth."

93 Point Rated -  Peter Chapman

"A Blend of grapes from Tasmania and the Adelaide Hills producing a wine with a great depth of citrus flavours. Pin apple and pears come through on a delicate spice. "

Highly Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review

"Bright, light to medium yellow hue with a gas-pipe aroma, reductive and gun-flinty. The wine has some sweetness and a soft, light to medium-weight palate. It's fairly straight forward and softly sweet, a real 'crowd pleaser'."

Technical

In 1865 Thomas Hardy had the foresight to begin blending grapes from different regions, believing that the blending would enhance the different qualities of the grapes. His vision proved to be right and it has since become the inspiration for their Heritage Reserve Bin (HRB) range. Hardy's award winning Heritage Reserve Bin range pushes the boundaries of winemaking through the cross regional blending of hand selected grapes.
