2x Olssen Of Watervale The Olssen Six Clare Valley Red Blend 2022 - 14.00% Alc
Black with currant red flashes. Fragrant nose displaying sweet red berries with plum and mulberry highlights. Spicy and fruit driven with freshly cut plums along with dark cherry flavours. Soft, savoury tannins and good acid add structure and length to this voluptuous wine. Well-integrated oak provides the perfect backbone with tannins and acid all melting into one another.
2x Clare Hills Clare Valley Shiraz Malbec 2021 By Pikes - 14.00% Alc
Medium to dark cherry red. Black cherry, cassis, mulberry and black forest cake aromas swirl around the glass, flecks of charry oak too. The palate weight is ripe, round and soft, but nicely poised. Fantastic concentration of black and blue fruits. Finely textured tannin profile provides length and complexity.
1x Shanahans The Old Dog Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021 -14% Alc
Probably the most full-bodied Old Dog we have seen in recent years which is a reflection of vintage and vineyard source, therefore I suggest allowing it to breathe if drinking in its youth. The dark plum and blackberry carry over from the nose whilst some blueberry, chocolate and liquorice all play alongside each other harmoniously. The finish shows silky-smooth tannins, soft under-lying oak and earthy characters which are pivotal to the balance of this wine. We release this wine to ensure the drinkability upon release as well as longevity although do suggest allowing this exceptional Shiraz to breathe to truly reflect perfectly who we are and where we are in terms of fruit source and sub regional character from another great Barossa Valley vintage, which celebrates our commitment to the region, traditional winemaking and hands off approach.
2x 1888 OKeefe Trail Heathcote Shiraz 2021 - 13.50% Alc
Inky black with dusty red hue. Liquorice, black cherries and pepper and spice. Some vanilla oak and earth characters are also evident. The palate has rich liquorice and black cherry flavours with notes of blackberry, vanillin oak and pepper and spice following up. The fine-grained tannins provide wonderful length and a framework for the long finish.
2x Viking Grand Barossa Valley GSM 2021 - 14.00% Alc
Deep purple in colour, with blackberry, plum and a burst of red cherry, accompanied by spice and white pepper aromas. The palate is a wonderful combination of red fruits and savoury undertones. Smooth tanins make for easy drinking with a soft lingering finish.
2x Escapade Vineyards Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021 - 14.52% Alc
Deep dark red and purple in colour. The nose in intoxicating with raspberry, licorice along with some subtle pepper, oak, and dried herbs. Full bodied palate which is highly concentrated with Raspberry, black olive, plum and licorice all feature with some dark chocolate providing the core flavours. Wonderfully integrated tannins then give the texture and balance the wine perfectly.
1x Normans Peacock McLaren Vale Shiraz Cabernet 2016 - 14.00% Alc
Deep dark red colour, the bouquet of dark fruit and dried herbs and earth on the nose with hints of mocha and chocolate. The palate is full of soft dark fruit flavours when allowed to breathe, there is a natural earth character to the wine reminiscent of a Southern Rhone style blend. Blackberry, and blackcurrant in highly concentrated amounts, dark plum, liquorice all provide an opulent yet not overpowering feel. Spicy vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco character and a touch of pepper.

"The 2021 vintage in Barossa was long and cool, and a welcome reprieve from the dry, low-yielding years that preceded it. Here, the 2021 The Old Dog Shiraz speaks to the season, through its balanced display of red and purple fruits, spicy oak and pliable tannins. It is slightly reductive upon opening but blossoms nicely as the wine is swirled, proving there's a few left in this old dog yet. Smart. This matured for 12 months in oak. 14% alcohol, sealed under Stelvin."

"It's beautifully ripe and fragrant with dark cherry, dried herb, smoked game and roasted nut aromas, leading to a succulent palate that's supple and rounded. Medium-full and harmonious with an attractive dry finish. At its best: now to 2030. $23.00. "
Aaron Brasher The Real Review
