Tasting Notes:

Brilliant very pale straw, almost water like colour with a faint tinge of green to the outskirts. Passionfruit, granny smith apple and citrus aromas are overlaid by herbaceous grassy capsicum like notes. Vibrant herbaceous gooseberry flavours interplay with passionfruit, citrus and grassy asparagus like characters. Dry crisp finish with a good aftertaste.

Technical:

Babydoll Sauvignon Blanc is so good it’s been named as best Sauvignon Blanc at international competitions not once, but twice! Our double Trophy winning Sauvignon Blanc is a Marlborough classic, fresh and expressive with bundles of varietal character. Crisp with passion fruit and grapefruit flavours, it’s destined to be your new favourite Sauv.

For this wine we selected individual parcels of Sauvignon Blanc from our vineyards in the Awatere Valley and the Wairau Valley. After harvesting, we fermented each parcel individually using specially selected Sauvignon Blanc yeast strains that work to really enhance the varietal character. Over the next four weeks a long, cool fermentation took place, with the parcels then being blended, stabilised, and bottled.
