Technical:

Sourced from vineyards located around the perimeter of most of the entire valley!  The increasing elevations of these locations brings cooler nights and impacts the grapes to enhance bright acidities and freshness with supporting but not intrusive tannin.

We tend to get the bright fresh Asian/North African spices from the deep sands, lifted red summer fruits from the northern red clays and savoury richness from the southern loams.  Climatically these sub regions are also quite distinct from each other which helps build the complexity in the wine.  2021 was a near perfect vintage, with warm but not excessively hot temps throughout the growing season following on from moderate spring rainfall all giving rise to concentrated reds with great flavour, colour and balance. By picking early, we ensured the fruit retained a brilliant vitality and freshness, without being over ripe. As a result, the wine is only just medium bodied, which, when combined with the bright acidity and the complex but fresh aromatic makes it such a refreshing and enjoyable drink that can be enjoyed with almost any food!

Accolades & Awards:

93 Point Rated - Dave Brookes Halliday Wine Companion

Sourced from Barossa Valley grenache vines up to 65 years old, matured 10 months in mostly seasoned French oak puncheons and hogsheads. Notes of raspberry coulis, maraschino cherries and red plum along with dabs of Asian spice, jasmine, ginger cake, purple flowers, red frogs and earth. Super-floral and lifted on the palate, with juicy plum and dried cranberry notes. It's light on tannin, with just a hint of alcohol warmth.

92 Point Rated - Campbell Mattinson The Wine Front

It takes time to come up in the glass but it’s then a beautiful wine to drink. It’s not lumbered with oak but it is blessed with pure Grenache fruit. Red cherry as much as raspberry, earth as much as spice, florals more than fennel. It feels juicy from start to finish but both acidity and tannin work to keep the lines straight, the impression controlled. No hesitation here. 92-93.

91 Point Rated – Stuart Knox The Real Review

Vibrant, deep ruby-red colour. Blueberry, bitter chocolate and bay leaf aromatics. Dark fruits, black slate and wood oil notes fill the mouth. There's a weight here that impresses as it glides to the long finish. A little more time in bottle will offer further character
