Tasting Notes:

The dark fruit spectrum which tends to be a feature of this vintage is very apparent in this wine, with earthy fruits and roasted beetroot. The palate has a density like no other Pinot Noir that we produce, with textured tannins and a lot of generosity, but all within a firm framework, giving the wine a nice balance.

Technical:

This is the third single release of Pinot Noir from the Jimjoca vineyard, it is a blend of the two north facing Pinot Noir blocks within the property. The wine was matured in a mix of puncheons (25%) and barriques (75%) with 20% new and the majority three years old or more. The wine was bottled without filtration.

Accolades & Awards:

94 Point Rated - James Halliday Wine Companion

"Separate block by block vinification, open-fermented after a cold soak, 18 days on skins, matured in French puncheons (23% new) for 8 months. Light, clear crimson; lots and lots and lots of fruit-sweet red cherry conserve and fresh fruit, soft tannins and an airbrush of oak."
