St Hallett Faith Barossa Valley Shiraz 2024 is a vibrant and expressive representation of Barossa Shiraz, inspired by the pioneering spirit of European settlers who ventured to the region in 1842. This contemporary classic has become a crowd favorite for its accessible, juicy, and fruit-driven profile. The deep purple hue hints at the generous fruit within, and the bouquet is lifted with bright cherry fruit characters, subtle chocolate, and enticing spice notes.
On the palate, the wine delivers a lively combination of dark berry fruits, pepper spices, and chocolate tones. The finish is long and savoury, coated in soft tannins, giving the wine a smooth, well-rounded mouthfeel. With its juicy fruit-forward character and complexity, the Faith Shiraz offers a perfect balance of richness and finesse, making it an ideal choice for a range of occasions.
This 93 Point Rated wine by Ken Gargett of Wine Pilot continues the legacy of St Hallett, one of the most admired Australian wine brands. A 5 Red Star Rated Winery by James Halliday, St Hallett has been crafting exceptional wines since its establishment in 1944.
This Barossa Shiraz pairs beautifully with grilled meats, barbecued dishes, or hearty pasta.
93 Point Rated - Ken Gargett Wine Pilot
"Ask a dozen Australian winelovers and critics to name wines which appear, year after year, in their top value lists and I would not be surprised if at least ten of them included this Barossa Valley gem. Wonderfully reliable, always cracking drinking and value on a level matching the Dutch purchase of Manhattan back in the 1620s (coincidently, one legend suggests that it was swapped for $24 of Venetian beads and trinkets, the very price of this wine, although apparently it was closer to 60 guilders which was around $1,000, but we digress, although given the current chaos, this might just be better buying). A dark, bruised plum hue, this is exuberant and generous. There are notes of black fruits, cherries, spices, a flick of vanilla, raspberries, herbs, mocha and coffee beans. This is seamless, balanced and juicy, with good intensity and impressive length. Seriously, what more do you want for this sort of dosh? Well focused with sleek tannins, this is still fresh and youthful. It will prove to be very enjoyable over the next ten years. I can think of no reason it should not be in your cellar."
