Tasting Notes:

A shining example of modern Barossa Grenache, the Pllana Barossa Grenache 2021 is bright ruby in colour and opens with a fragrant bouquet of red fruits and wildflowers. With time in the glass, raspberry and mulberry notes deepen, layered with cinnamon and a touch of caramel, adding both intrigue and warmth.

This light to medium-bodied wine is smooth, juicy, and textured, offering an elegant balance of ripe fruit and subtle spice. Mouth-coating tannins lend structure while maintaining the variety’s signature softness and approachability.

Grapes were sourced from select vineyards across the Barossa Valley floor, with the majority handpicked throughout March. Each block was individually vinified, allowing wild yeasts to naturally ferment the grapes, enhancing complexity and character. Post-fermentation, the wine was matured in older large-format barrels for nine months before blending, ensuring a Grenache of finesse and purity.

A refined, food-friendly red that’s as comfortable on its own as it is paired with roast duck, grilled eggplant or spiced lamb dishes.
