Tasting Notes:

The Stolen Colt Cabernet shows dark fruit flavours of blackberry & cassis. Intense oak notes of vanilla, chocolate and coffee enhance the bold profile. Dark and rich wine with concentrated blackberry fruits, toasty vanilla oak and supple long tannins.

Technical:

Produced in Bandit country N.S.W. Australia. The story of the stolen colt... When Samuel McWilliam came over from Ireland to Australia in 1857 with dreams of starting his own vineyard, he hadn't envisioned it would be so arduous. At this time, rural NSW was rife with bushrangers, horse thieves and notorious gangs. Samuel unwittingly bought a stolen colt and mare from horse thief John Gibbs. When the police came, he lost both the horses and his money. Samuel's tenacious spirit, grit and honest hard work overcame all challenges, successfully establishing his 80-acre vineyard in 1877. This determination and passion were soon passed onto his son JJ and live on to this day, in the sixth generation of McWilliam winemakers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Chewy from Not as i expected I opened this bottle after eating and sat down to relax and watch television, poured a glass found the nose minimal, and took my first mouthful and it just didn't offer me anything no body only a linger of fruit left on the palate At best this wine is a quaff to have at a BBQ, with not your best friends, i expected more when i read the review before purchasing the 4 bottles
