Tasting Notes:

The Basedows Of Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a rich, full-bodied wine that perfectly captures the essence of the Barossa Valley. The 2019 vintage was defined by a mild winter and a drier-than-usual spring, which led to early flowering and fruit set. A hot start to summer resulted in early ripening, with all varieties coming to maturity in quick succession. Despite the smaller yield, the quality of the grapes was exceptional, and the conditions produced wines with impressive density, color, and rich flavor.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is deep red in color with purple hues, a visual representation of its intensity. The nose is inviting, with aromas of ripe blackberry, eucalypt, and a touch of mint, creating an aromatic profile that is both fresh and complex. On the palate, the wine is full and luscious, with flavors of blackberries and plums harmoniously blending with soft tannins and rounded oak. The medium to full-bodied wine offers great length and structure, making it an excellent example of Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2019 Basedows Cabernet Sauvignon has earned a Gold Medal and 93 points from Australian Wine Showcase Magazine, further reinforcing its exceptional quality. Basedows, one of Barossa’s oldest family-owned wineries established in 1896, is renowned for producing wines of great character and distinction. The winery’s legacy is further cemented by winning Australia's biggest trophy, the prestigious Jimmy Watson.

This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled meats, such as lamb or beef, as well as rich dishes like beef Wellington or a selection of aged cheeses.
