Tasting Notes:

Deep Amber Brown in colour With Red Tinges. Rich bouquet with complex rancio characters along with some fresh fruit and wonderful integration of spirit. Incredibly rich liqueur raisin characters distinctive of a Christmas fruit cake. It shows developed fruit/oak characters that are nicely underpinned by the use of the fine brandy spirit. With an exceptional mellow mid palate and fine oak tannins, with a lusciousness that lingers on and on long after consumption.

Technical:

Blended from select parcels of old fortified tawny that have been aged in large and small oak barrels for an average of 10 years.

Norman's claim it is 10 years old but I think that, at least some of it, is older. It has a developed rancio nose with a gush of toffee, chocolate, dried fruit and spices. An elegant wine for a small price.
