Deep crimson—almost black—in the glass, the Peter Thompson Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a classically styled single-vineyard Cabernet from one of Australia’s most revered cool-climate regions. Crafted by 50-year winemaking veteran Peter Thompson, this wine shows remarkable elegance, balance, and aging potential.

The nose is complex and lifted, offering notes of blueberry, red fruits, charry oak, and cigar box, layered with hints of cedar and dark chocolate. The palate reveals concentrated flavours of blackberry, stalky varietal herbs, and sweet vanillin oak, balanced by silky tannins and the richness of extended barrel aging.

There is a gentle sweetness from ripe fruit that gives way to refined structure and lingering length. Additional bottle age will further develop flavours of cedar, chocolate, and violet, rewarding patient cellaring.
