Tasting Notes:

Light gold in colour, the bouquet has aromas of citrus, peach, pear, nectarine and honey with attractive oak. The palate has a vibrant mouthfeel with stone fruits, citrus, a twist of caramel and subtle oak. This combines with a slight touch of refreshing acidity giving the wine a beautifully balanced and lingering finish. De Bortoli have established a number of Semillon vineyards over the years from which the fruit is sourced for this sweet, delectable wine.

Technical:

The 2009 year began with hot conditions until the middle of February when there was an overnight rain, followed by more showers during March. This initiated the onset of botrytis, which was enhanced by showers and early morning dews during April providing good conditions for the infection to progress. Harvesting occurred over five days in the third week of May. Fermentation occurs over four to eight weeks with each vineyard kept separate to enhance characteristics during fermentation and maturation.
