The nose gives a heady mix of blackberry, plum, and cherry with milk chocolate and vanilla spice. Elegant and luxurious at the same time. The palate opens with a swathe of dark fruits on a bed of supple but finely structured tannins. Oak provides a vanilla background with embellishments of earth and graphite that are soaked up by blackberry fruit. Chocolate richness with a touch of briar frame the long and dark fruited finish. Deep colour and a rich, ripe fruit and toasty oak bouquet, laced with chocolate. The oak is more apparent in the mouth, where it has a charred-timber quality overlying its substantial dark cherry and blackberry fruit flavours. It’s full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with lovely amplitude and fleshy mouth-feel. A superb wine with massive potential.
