Aromatic and bright, yet exuding the style and pedigree which are hallmarks of the St Hugo label. This Grenache Shiraz Mataro blend shows lifted fruit aromas of Turkish delight and briary complexity. The palate is plush, full and complex. Ripe fruit flavours are complemented by silky tannins and subtle oak.

Technical:

St Hugo is named after Johann’s grandson Hugo Gramp a key figure at Orlando Wines. Recently developed under the St Hugo label this wine follows the signature St Hugo style of power & elegance and based on its exceptional quality bears the ‘Jacob’s Creek Winemakers’ endorser. This GSM exudes the best elements of all three varietals while typifying the unique style of the region.

Accolades & Awards:

93 Points - Toni Paterson

"A beautifully composed wine with medium-body and good palate harmony. Intense red fruit flavours with mild hints of spice. There is no excessive warmth, and the acidity is perfectly integrated with the body of the wine."

92 Points - Huon Hooke

"Deep red colour with a good tint of purple. The aroma is fruit-driven and fresh, bright and ripe cherries to the fore. It's medium-bodied and sinewy with some firmness from the tannins, and some spice possibly from oak. A very good fruit-driven, fresh, clean, bright wine with length and ageing potential."

James Halliday

"A 56/32/12% blend that includes 6% Eden Valley fruit. Traditional style, medium to full-bodied with plum, hints of plum cake and spices, soft and round in the mouth. Doesn't want to pick a fight, and fine for meat and pasta dishes. Its price may cause some to blink."
