The Saltram No 1 Shiraz 2018 continues the legacy of a classic Barossa red, with a rich history dating back to the first release in 1992. The wine is named after the inaugural wine made in 1862 by William and Edward Salter, the father-son founders of Saltram Wines. Today, No 1 Shiraz stands as a super-premium wine that is renowned for its complexity, depth, and rich fruit character.

Sourced from low-yielding old vines along the eastern fringes of the Barossa Valley floor, the 2018 vintage combines fruit from both the Barossa Valley (78%) and the Eden Valley (22%). After being made in traditional open fermenters, the wine was matured for 16 months in a combination of seasoned French oak casks and new and seasoned French oak barrels. This ageing process has allowed the wine to develop its rich, full-bodied character and enhanced its structure.
