Tasting Notes:

Fragrant aromas of rhubarb, spice and sweet cherries. A medium bodied, rustic wine with flavours of ripe cherries and earthy, herbaceous notes

Technical:

The wine is lightly oaked using old French barrels, allowing the wine oak for structure and balance, without imparting strong oak tannins. Sangiovese is typically a lighter style of red wine, early to release and easy to drink, which is why we bottle it young to retain those youthful, fresh, fruity characters.  90% Sangiovese, 10% Shiraz

Accolades & Awards:

Jeni Port James Halliday Wine Companion

"Walks a thin line between nicely addressing sangiovese's strong suits – plentiful back cherry fruit, plums and spice – and going an inch too far with the sweetness. The fruit can clearly stand alone with just a lick of oak spiciness to lift the palate, but then the sugar chimes in on the finish. Still, set Aquarius up with some pizza and all will be fine."
