Grant Burge Filsell 100th Anniversary Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021 is a monumental release crafted to celebrate a century of viticultural heritage from some of the Barossa Valley’s most cherished old-vine Shiraz blocks. The 2021 vintage delivered ideal growing conditions—cool, steady ripening with excellent rainfall in autumn and spring—resulting in exceptional fruit purity, colour, and tannin structure.

In the glass, it shows deep, saturated magenta with black hues, a visual prelude to its richness. The nose is immediately expressive, bursting with kirsch, roasted hazelnuts, boysenberry and nutmeg spice. Plush cherry-chocolate flavours dominate the palate, supported by dark plum, espresso and fine, structured tannins. The savoury undercurrent of spice and damson plum adds balance to the wine’s powerful presence, while the finish is long, luxurious, and impressively persistent.

Awarded a phenomenal 98 Points by James Halliday in the Halliday Wine Companion and 97 Points by Ray Jordan of WinePilot, this flagship Shiraz also received 95 Points from Andrew Caillard MW and 94 Points from Huon Hooke at The Real Review, confirming its stature among Australia’s elite red wines.

This is an unapologetically bold, age-worthy Shiraz that captures the essence of old vine Barossa and stands as one of the region’s most compelling offerings in recent years.
