Tyrrell’s Wines is a pre-eminent family owned and operated Australian wine company managed by fourth-generation winemaker Bruce Tyrrell. The winemaking team, headed by Chief Winemaker Andrew Spinaze, works with the objective to produce some of Australia’s most iconic wines crafted using fruits sourced from their in-house vineyards in Hunter Valley, NSW and Heathcote, Victoria. The winery was established by Edward Tyrrell, the great grandfather of Bruce, when he first came to Pokolbin from England in 1858.

100% Hunter Valley fruit. The grapes used to craft Stomping Ground Shiraz were fermented in traditional open top vats and matured in older large format casks to highlight fruit flavours and purity.

Tyrrell’s Wines is a family owned wine company, established by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, in 1858. It is currently managed by fourth-generation family member Bruce Tyrrell, who believes in the simple philosophy of producing high quality wine that people love to drink.  

Stomping Ground Chardonnay is 100% Hunter Valley fruit. The wine was matured in new and old French oak barriques and treated on yeast lees to enhance texture and complexity.

It is currently headed by Bruce Tyrrell, a fourth-generation winemaker who aims to produce high quality wines that people love to drink. The winery was named as ‘Winery of the Year’ in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion for the year 2010.
