Jansz Tasmania Premium Sparkling Cuvée NV is a quintessential expression of world-class sparkling from one of Australia's most celebrated cool-climate regions. Honouring the island’s Dutch heritage and crafted using the traditional method, this cuvée offers a delicate yet vibrant balance of finesse, elegance, and creamy complexity.
From the glass, bright aromas of honeysuckle and citrus leap forward, joined by subtle notes of nougat, roasted nuts and a whisper of wild strawberry courtesy of the Pinot Noir. The palate is richly textured yet precise, filled with delicate fruit layers, a hint of baked brioche and soft creaminess. A crisp line of natural acidity keeps things lifted, carrying through to a long, refined finish with lingering citrus and nougat detail.
This release is the result of meticulous winemaking and blending from cool-climate vineyards across Tasmania. Aged for approximately two years on lees, the wine's 53% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir, and 3% Pinot Meunier composition delivers both depth and vibrancy. With multiple accolades — including 94 points from Decanter and Ned Goodwin, 93 points from Wine Enthusiast, and 92 points from Tim White — it's no wonder this is among the most awarded and recognised sparkling wines in the country.
Perfect as an aperitif or served alongside oysters, grilled scallops, lemon risotto or creamy goat’s cheese tartlets, this cuvée offers a luxurious experience in every glass.
94 Point Rated - Decanter London "Complex aromas of croissant, salted butter, hints of caramel and cashew nuts, wind candied Amalfi lemon peel nuances. It delivers power and elegance in equal measures. Delicious from start to finish. Nominated by Justin Knock MW. Drinking Window 2021 - 2040" 94 Point Rated Ned Goodwin "Long a staple across the festive season, this is always a quality domestic sparkling and this new base is no exception. Best is the integration: creamy and yet fresh; rich yet ethereal. Neither the yeast-derived toastiness, nor the cool climate acidity, sticking out over the other. Scents of autumnal fruits, nuts, brûlee and nougat pulled long and gently saline." 93 Point Rated Wine Enthusiast "The latest nonvintage from Australia’s most famous Tasmanian sparkling producer is a tasty drop at a bargain price. A blend of Champagne’s three classic varieties, this bottling combines fruit from the north and south of the island. Eighteen months on lees results in a bubbly that is mostly fruit driven—lemon, apple and pear—with the yeast-derived brioche notes serving as a backdrop." |
"This smells of abundant, forest pippy, black and red fruit. (I thought it a rose in a blind tasting). So a big black grape - pinot noir - influence. Hot cross buns and things. Soft and easy on the tongue with patined, aged on lees softness, but finishing with plenty of fresh fruit." 92 Point Rated, Decanter World Wine Awards "Breezy and floral, with gentle grassy tones around lemon pith, apple skin and yellow plums, then layers of pastry on the tail." |

"Chardonnay dominance explains lemon zest and fresh lemon juice notes; honey and roast nuts from extended ageing on yeast lees; minerality counters sweetness on the finish."

"I opened this alongside the 2004 Jansz ($39.95) and for what it is, preferred drinking the lower priced NV. I’d also add that I did not think the standard Domaine Chandon NV was much chop (coarse but ok) and the 2005 Wolf Blass Gold Label Pinot Chardonnay ($25.95) looked harsh and edgy. Bleh. So this was the pick of the bunch.Pretty, tasty and fun but not without grace and refinement. It offers light lemon and strawberry flavours with a touch of earthiness and has balanced sweetness and good length of flavour. At the price point it’s just the ticket."
90 Point Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review
"Light yellow hue, aromas of nougat, subtle toast and freshly-shelled cashew nuts. The palate is fresh and bright, youthful and dry, delicate, dry and crisp with low sweetness and high acidity. Good intensity of flavour, focus and harmony."
90 Point Rated - James Halliday Wine Companion
"Medium straw hue. An inviting harmony between the crunch of citrus zest, the succulence of stone fruits and the gentle complexity of toasty, nutty maturity makes for a finely crafted NV blend ready for immediate celebration. Well-defined acid line and a touch of phenolic grip provide definition to the finish."
90 Point Rated Anthony Gismondi
"The fruit is sourced from selected cool climate vineyards across Tasmania and ends up as individual batches especially chosen to form the Cuvée base. The blend usually is 75/25 chardonnay/ pinot noir. The nose is a riot of aromas mixing lemon zest, honeysuckle, and a subtle wild strawberry note. It gets 18 months of lees contact, adding a nutty complex underside to support a delicious, creamy, bright, fresh palate full of citrus and salinity. Oysters are the west coast match. This delicious non-vintage sparkler was first released in 1999."
