Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a very finely presented but intense bouquet with pure rose-petal and mineral aromas. The nose is one of delicacy and finesse. Off-dry to taste, the fruit is finely bound, somewhat restrained initially. Soft and subtly interwoven flavours of rose-petals, minerals, ginger and spices flow on a very smooth, near unctuous palate. The textures are soft and refined, and the flavours build with richness. Some alcohol warmth becomes noticeable, adding to the linearity and carrying though to a long, lingering finish with ginger, musk and herb detail. This is a refined, off-dry Gewurztraminer with some unctuousness, and florals and minerals that build in richness. It will develop greater breadth.

"This is one of the most reliable and excellent labels for this grape, and the 2013 offering is another beauty. Youthful and classically styled, the perfumed bouquet shows tropical fruit, white peach, floral and a hint of spice notes. It's succulent and rounded on the palate with a lovely silky flow. It's immensely delicious. At its best: now to 2018."

"Gewurztraminer fruit from 3 sites on the Waimea Plains and one hillside site in Ruby Bay, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 10.4 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Serve with fine Asian fare over the next 4-5+ years."

"Floral, light aromas with pretty rose water and citrus rind aromas. Delicate and pure across the palate with zesty, sweet lime juice, touch of rose water, some Turkish delight. It's gently sweet but met by lemony acidity. Balance here is very good, leaving an easy drink of perfume and presence in the glass. Nice one."
4 Stars Winestate
"Enticingly perfumed, with mouth filling body and concentrated lychee, pear, ginger and spice flavours. Youthful, medium-dry style, strongly varietal, with gentle acidity and good harmony."
Wines of the Week by Sue Courtney
"This straw gold coloured wine is distinctly Gewurztraminer. It's straw gold coloured with a fragrance of sugar-coated violets and exotic spices, and it's full of flavour in the medium bodied palate. Dry-ish, perhaps just off dry, with sweet red grapefruit, a refreshing zing of ginger, classical musky notes and an appealing infusion of anise on the clean, focused finish."
