Pale straw with a bright green hue and brilliant clarity. Very aromatic, packed with tropical fruit, showing Passionfruit and Mango with an underlying backbone of capsicum and tomato vine. Dry wine displaying strong varietal fruit flavours, with mouth filling richness and varietal intensity showing great pungency with a zesty finish. A rich and elegant Hawke's Bay Sauvignon Blanc.
Estate grown vineyards in the Esk Valley and Dartmoor Valley. All the grapes used for this wine are grown on sustainable viticulture approved sites. 2014 was a warmer vintage giving a riper fruit. The fruit was picked in two different lots for optimum flavour and ripeness. The grapes were gently harvested. The fruit was crushed and gently pressed, cold settled overnight. The settled juice was racked and inoculated with two different yeasts. Fermentation was conducted cool to retain fruit flavours and lasted approximately 4 weeks. After 1 month on light lees the wine was blended, fined, stabilized and Cross Flow filtered prior to bottling. Keeping in line with Moana Park's philosophies this product has had no animal products used on it.
4 Star Rated Raymond Chan 2014
Bright, light golden-hued yellow colour, paler on edge. This has a moderately full and voluminous nose with aromas of gooseberry fruit with some passionfruit lift, along with herbs and a savoury, steely note. Dry and racy on attack, the acidity is searing, refreshing and mouthwatering, but countered by soft phenolic textures that ameliorate the cut. Light flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruit intermingle with a gooseberry core. The flavours follow the light, drying line to a thirst-quenching, slippery finish.

"Little Big Winery - Moana Park is a little winery in Hawke’s Bay’s Western Hills with surprising dimensions – a surprisingly long history, an expanding reputation and a winemaker with an over-sized passion. Dan Barker loves his northern Rhone varieties, a devotion rewarded with four stars in this edition and Top Five status in last issue’s tasting. Both wines were also rated best buys" Cuisine Magazine
"Moana Park – This boutique operation produces small volumes of high quality wines!!!" Hawkes Bay Today 2008 vintage Moana Park Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc "Moana Park wins Top Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc second year in a row, with silver at the Bragato Wine Awards.
