Tasting Notes:

Bright green with pale straw edge. Wonderful purity is obvious initially on the nose with fruit driven aromas of melon, peach and a slight hint of nut. Lovely citrus flavours with an array of fruits including, peach, nectarine and melon developing into a secondary layer of flavours of fig, lees and a touch of oak provide a buttery touch. Tight and focused on the finish with great depth of flavour and a lovely touch of natural fruit acidity.

Technical:

Grapes were harvested in individual batches to select only the finest quality fruit and minimize losses due to the small tonnes grown. The picking occurred from a single vineyard located in the Cooler Southern Barossa region of Rowland Flat. The wine was crushed and fermented with 20% of the blend receiving oak fermentation with frequent lees stirring. The two parcels were blended together and bottled to retain fruit driven flavours.

Accolades & Awards:

94 Point Rated - Australian Wine Showcase Magazine
"Lovely nose of citrus and butterscotch. Attractive palate complexity showing plenty of attractive ripe varietal fruit flavours with good level acidity on the finish."

93 Point Rated & 5 Stars - Sam Kim Wine Orbit

"Elegant, complex and engaging, the bouquet shows Gala apple, green rockmelon, lemon peel, almond and savoury pastry aromas. The palate is equally attractive with beautifully rounded mouthfeel backed by bright acidity, finishing lingering and refined. At its best: now to 2030. $35.00. www.colonialwinecompany.com.au. Feb 2024."
