The Grant Burge East Argyle Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris 2024 is an elegant and refined white wine that showcases the exceptional character of the Adelaide Hills terroir. This wine has been crafted with precision to deliver a sensory experience marked by delicate aromas and a textured, opulent palate. It features a beautiful pale straw colour with a hint of rose gold, inviting you into its aromatic complexity.
On the nose, the wine presents an enticing bouquet of cinnamon poached pears, vanilla cream, and rose. Notes of honeysuckle, jasmine, and a whisper of bittersweet caramel and raw honeycomb envelop the core aromas of softened pears, red apples, and fresh white peach. The result is a beautifully layered scent profile that combines fruit, floral, and spice notes in a harmonious balance.
The palate is equally impressive, with opulent flavours of lychee, pear, and soft lime, accented by hints of ginger and cinnamon. A small portion of the wine has been fermented in seasoned French oak, which adds texture and mid-palate weight, enhancing the wine’s depth. The structure of the wine is defined by fine, crunchy phenolics and zesty natural acidity, creating a finely balanced and complex foundation. The indulgent flavours of caramel-soaked apples and spicy poached pears are beautifully harmonized, with a savory undertone from the phenolic structure. The wine finishes with a tight acid line that adds a delicate crispness, ensuring a lingering, flavourful finish.
This Pinot Gris is a perfect match for aromatic and mildly spiced Asian dishes, antipasto, or modern Australian cuisine, where its richness and freshness will complement the diverse flavours of the dishes.
93 Point Rated - Andrew Caillard The Vintage Journal
Pale colour. Pear skin, lemon curd, tonic water aromas with hints of green apple. Musky pear, green apple flavours, some bitter lemon notes and fresh long minerally acidity. Fruity and delicious to drink. An early drinking but timeless style.
