The Grant Burge GB43 Merlot 2022 captures the rich, approachable character that defines South Australian Merlot. Part of the celebrated GB Series, this wine is a tribute to Meshach Burge, the pioneering winemaker whose legacy has shaped more than 155 years of Grant Burge winemaking heritage.

A vibrant ruby red in the glass, this Merlot opens with an inviting bouquet of blueberries, plums, red currants and cherries, accented by hints of vanilla and warm spice. On the palate, it’s rich, smooth, and fruit-driven, with supple red berry flavours supported by gentle vanillin oak. The wine is beautifully balanced with a well-rounded, soft finish, making it ideal for immediate enjoyment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by spock from Run of the mill Merlot Have never been a fan of Grant Burge wines. This wine is no exception. There is something that I cannot quite put my finger on, It is supple, as you would expect for a Merlot (maybe it needs a bit more time in botttle - but under 'Stelvin' this could be extensive). But there is something that 'jars' my palate. I believe most people would enjoy this wine in a BBQ situation. I bought it for a couple of events that I supply wine for. And for this purpose it is well suited.
