The Eddystone Point Tasmania Pinot Noir 2023 is a vibrant and expressive cool-climate release that captures the purity, energy and unmistakable regional character of Tasmania’s windswept north-east. First released in 2013, Eddystone Point was created with a clear vision — to craft wines that are drinkable, affordable and reflective of the exceptional quality of Tasmanian produce — and the 2023 vintage continues that legacy with confidence and finesse.
The 2023 growing season was long and cool, delivering beautifully developed flavours despite ongoing disease pressure that demanded careful vineyard management. The result is a Pinot Noir of aromatic lift, refined structure and impressive mid-palate weight. In the glass, it shows a bright, vibrant red hue, immediately signalling freshness and vitality. The nose is lifted and fragrant, with fresh-cut strawberry and Morello cherry aromas unfolding alongside subtle spice derived from thoughtful whole bunch inclusion and maturation in quality French oak.
On the palate, a gently sweet entry is balanced by natural acidity that carries bright cherry, raspberry and blueberry flavours with precision and clarity. Layers of delicate spice and savoury nuance add complexity without overshadowing the purity of fruit. The texture is supple and poised, framed by fine tannins and a graceful structure that speaks to the meticulous winemaking and the distinctiveness of Tasmania’s cool climate. Whole bunch fermentation and carefully judged French oak revolve around fruit expression rather than dominance, ensuring a wine that is elegant, balanced and true to style.
This Tasmanian Pinot Noir is superb with roast duck, herb-crusted pork loin, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto or soft washed-rind cheeses, where its vibrant red fruit and savoury spice shine beautifully. Crafted for immediate enjoyment yet structured enough for short-term cellaring, the Eddystone Point Tasmania Pinot Noir 2023 is a polished, regionally expressive red that showcases the unmistakable freshness and finesse of modern Tasmanian winemaking.
