Reschke R-Series Limestone Coast Pinot Noir 2024 is a refined cool-climate expression from one of South Australia’s most respected family producers. The Reschke story dates back to 1906 when the family established their renowned Hereford cattle stud in Coonawarra — a heritage proudly reflected in the iconic Reschke bull logo. Today that same commitment to the land continues through wines that showcase the purity and elegance of the Limestone Coast.
In the glass, the wine reveals a bright crimson hue with youthful vibrancy. Aromas of fresh red cherry and tart plum lift from the glass, layered with subtle hints of forest floor and delicate oak complexity. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully textured, delivering vibrant red berry fruit supported by fine structure and gentle savoury undertones. Soft tannins and bright acidity provide balance and freshness, leading to a smooth, elegant finish that captures the hallmark finesse of cool-climate Pinot Noir.
This impressive vintage continues the strong pedigree of the range, earning 93 Points and 5 Stars from Sam Kim (Wine Orbit) along with 92 Points from Ken Gargett (WinePilot). The previous vintage was awarded Champion Wine of Show, while the winery itself holds an outstanding 5 Red Star rating from Halliday Wine Companion, underscoring its reputation for consistent quality and excellence.
Beautifully versatile at the table, this Pinot Noir pairs effortlessly with roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, herb-roasted chicken or a relaxed charcuterie platter where its vibrant fruit and savoury complexity shine.
93 Point Rated - Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"Elegant and complex, the inviting bouquet shows sweet cherry, dried herb, game, almond and floral notes, leading to a finely flowing palate that's juicy and beautifully rounded. Delightfully balanced with fine-grained tannins, making it stylish and immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2032. $45.00."
92 Point Rated - Ken Gargett WinePilot
"The Limestone Coast Pinot used here underwent a brief cold soak before a seven-day ferment and a period of maturation in a range of seasoned French oak. The colour is a pale garnet, crimson. This is very much a savoury style of Pinot, with notes of mushrooms, undergrowth, red fruits, sour cherries and smoked sausage meats. Those sour cherry notes move to the fore on the palate. A sleek palate with very fine tannins, the wine is of medium length with a lingering finish. A most attractive Pinot, excellent value, which will drink well for the next five to six years."
Shanteh Wales Halliday Wine Companion
"Maraschino cherries and raspberries surround prunes and licorice spice. Some sappy tannins and an even flush of acidity. Some confected sweet red berries on the finish. Oak is quite restrained."
