This rich and fruit-driven wine embodies bold notes of ripe-dark fruits such as blackberry and cherry complemented by hints of pepper spice. The wine is beautifully balanced and structured.

Shanahans Silence Is Golden Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019
Lavish nose showing profound notes of blood plum, mulberries and underlying tones of black pepper, earth and elegant oak.
Voluptuous, opulent and yet refined are the trademarks of Silence is Golden. This year the vintage produced perfect fruit with a great level of intensity. Highly concentrated featuring alluring flavours of blackcurrant, plum, dark cherry, cassis with velvety smooth tannins and the slightest touch of acidity. Wonderfully integrated oak ensuring great intensity, length and cellaring potential.
Normans Peacock McLaren Vale Shiraz Cabernet 2021
Deep dark red colour, the bouquet of dark fruit and dried herbs and earth on the nose with hints of mocha and chocolate. The palate is full of soft dark fruit flavours when allowed to breathe, there is a natural earth character to the wine reminiscent of a Southern Rhone style blend. Blackberry, and blackcurrant in highly concentrated amounts, dark plum, liquorice all provide an opulent yet not overpowering feel. Spicy vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco character and a touch of pepper. Its an old school lighter style of premium wine more in line with the 80's and early 90's style of winemaking before high alcohol wines became accepted with wonderful aged character even in its infancy.
The Colonial Estate InExile Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021
Deep opaque red to black in colour with vivid purple hues. Complex bouquet featuring alluring dark chocolate, forest fruits, fleshy plum with underlying earthy nuances, which give the immediate impact of a soft well, structured wine. The palate is voluptuous with a real rich velvety texture expected in top quality Barossa reds from an outstanding vintage. The mid palate is an assortment of Christmas pudding, black olives, freshly cut plum, oak and earth. A true reflection of Barossa Shiraz from a great vintage and it finishes with some classically fine tannins, which linger and draw you into this seamless classic Barossa Valley Shiraz.
Kopparossa Coonawarra Reserve Shiraz 2018
Deep, earthy red with purple and plum coloured hues. Toasty, spicy, cherry plum, chocolate with a hint of mint. Velvety, ripe fleshy cherry fruit flavours with a lingering astringency- from firm supple grape and oak tannins. Still a youthful wine that will develop into a bigger, richer, complex individual, as time goes on.
Thompson Steer Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
This Cabernet Sauvignon embodies a fruit-driven wine with bold notes of blackcurrant, plum, and cherry. Touches of subtle oak, chocolate, and vanilla bean complete the rich round palate.
Yering Station Village Yarra Shiraz 2019
Yering Station has firmly established itself amongst wine lovers as an exceptional Yarra Valley wine producer, sourcing fruit entirely from the Yarra Valley. The winemaking team, now led by the highly experienced cool climate specialist Willy Lunn, remains committed to producing wines which express the characteristics of the region, with particular emphasis on varietal flavours, structure and balance.
Shanahans Silence Is Golden Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019
Sourced from three blocks in the western Barossa Valley, from vines aged up to 64 years. The 2019 vintage is another standout vintage and one I would say is well suited to the style of wine I enjoy to drink and craft. The timing of picking was critical to ensure wines did not become over ripe therefore we carefully watched and picked based on berry ripeness not just Baume. The Shiraz grapes were selected based on flavour profile to ensure consistency of style. The grapes were handpicked and delivered to the winery and gently worked through the de-stemmer before being transferred to an open fermenter with 20% whole berries. The juice is pumped over twice a day for seven days before draining and loading the basket press. The skins are then gently pressed for approximately 20 hours to retrieve more of the essence of the grape. After the wine has completed its malolactic ferment, it is matured in 23% new and 77% older American and French oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling with minimal fining or filtration.
Normans Peacock McLaren Vale Shiraz Cabernet 2021
Sourced from two vineyards one in the warmer Seppeltsfield region and the other in the cooler Angaston region from vines with an average age of 90 years. Fermented in small open top stainless steel with some whole berries, these fermenters ensure we maintain strong fruit flavor from skins and whole berries. Hand plunged two to four times daily for two weeks then transferred into 1 and 2-year-old American and French oak barrels for the remainder of ferment then spent 24 months in the same barrels to allow full flavor development with minimal topping and Sulphur additions before being bottled without fining or filtration. Drinking well now but if you are patient enough to hold off this will develop beautifully in the cellar and build the aged character which has been a hallmark of this wine.
The Colonial Estate InExile Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021
The fruit for this Shiraz was sourced from a single old vineyard in the Marananga region in the Barossa Valley. The vineyard was severely pruned and as a result of this and minimal water they produced just one tonne to the acre. The grapes were all hand picked and a small selection from the most western edge of the Shiraz block was isolated by the winemaker and vigneron as they had such outstanding quality. The grapes were transported to the winery in the early hours of the morning to avoid the summer heat where they were again sorted then de-stemmed and crushed before being co-fermented in large wooden vats after extreme cold maceration. The wine had their malolactic in new French oak, and is thereafter in the same new French barrels for aging. The best barrels were then selected after 12 months in oak to be used in the final blend and bottled with minimal filtration. In the winery the final 12 barrels used were isolated from all other wines and we considered them to be inexile and hence the name was born.

Shanahans Silence Is Golden Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019
96 Point Rated - Kim Brebach
Dense, profound Shiraz with a spicy nose and a glossy texture. Top red from the word GO. Rich, ripe fruit, dark chocolate and Christmas pudding spices, with some charcuterie in the background. Fine tannins on the long finish round it all off nicely. Perfect pitch, one of those reds you can enjoy now (after some airing) and keep for 20 years. Brilliant. 96 points. A genuine bargain.

Very attractive nose with tarry, spicy characters. It is stunning densely packed, oaky, fruit-driven style with excellent structure.
95 Point Rated - Patrick Eckel Wine Reviewer
A glossy, deep red in the glass with dark plum, earth and charcuterie on the nose that has a gentle nudge of spiced oak. There is a wonderful savoury, dark fruited core to the wine that is laced with dark cocoa; acidity gives structure and drive with a rhone like deli influence on the mid palate. Black cherry, plum and graphite frame the long, satisfying finish. A wine that will live for decades.
95 Point Rated - Sam Kim Wine Orbit

90 Point Rated Stuart Know The Real Review
Deep to opaque purple core with a brightness in the rim. Plum conserve, lavender and black olive aromatics. Plum fruits and aniseed spices on entry, a soft and weighty palate that is quite textured. Good length and drive into the finish where tannins kick in and grip quite firmly. A little decanter time to soften them would be of benefit.
90 Point Rated - International Wine Competition London
A distinctive, interesting shiraz with richly spiced plum cake, eucalyptus, marjoram, black truffle and coca powder.
Kopparossa Coonawarra Reserve Shiraz 2018
