The Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is a vibrant and aromatic wine that beautifully captures the essence of New Zealand’s Central Otago region. 2024 saw a continuation of successful vintages, with a warm, dry growing season due to the El Niño weather pattern. The season was marked by excellent yield potential, cool conditions at flowering, and low disease pressure, allowing the vines to thrive despite the dry conditions. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that is bold, concentrated, and flavour-packed, with balanced acidity that showcases the unique terroir of Central Otago.
This wine offers lifted aromas of guava, passionfruit, and pineapple, accompanied by herbal notes that are characteristic of a classic Sauvignon Blanc. The palate is juicy, ripe, and bold, with the tropical fruit flavours racing across the tastebuds, followed by a mineral and saline finish that adds length and complexity. The wine’s freshness is a testament to the excellent care taken during the harvest in the cool mornings and its careful fermentation process. Once the grapes were pressed, the wine was settled, fermented at cool temperatures to enhance its aromatic lift, and bottled shortly after fermentation to preserve its freshness and purity.
With a 97-point rating and a Double Gold Medal from the New Zealand International Wine Show, the Roaring Meg Sauvignon Blanc 2024 has proven its quality and potential. Best enjoyed with Bluff oysters, this wine pairs perfectly with fresh seafood, making it an ideal choice for light dishes or an elegant starter.

"It's delightfully scented on the nose, showing crunchy apple, fig, feijoa and lemon zest aromas. The palate is equally appealing with excellent vibrancy backed by fine texture and juicy acidity, finishing long and super tasty. At its best: now to 2027"

"Pungent, vibrant, expressive and varietal. Packed with aromas and flavours of passionfruit, mango, lemon and gooseberry, a steely wet stone quality and fine lees complexity. A wine made to be enjoyed today with a crunchy texture, high acidity and persistent fruity finish. Lots to like. Best from today and through 2026"
