The Babich Marlborough Pinot Gris 2025 is a beautifully expressive, sustainably crafted white wine that captures the purity, texture and aromatic lift Marlborough is famous for. Sourced from select vineyards in the Waihopai and Wairau Valleys, this release reflects the precision and integrity of Babich Wines, New Zealand’s leading family-owned winery, renowned for quality, innovation and environmental leadership.


Certified organic and vegan-friendly, this Pinot Gris is crafted with meticulous attention to both vineyard and winery detail. A portion of the fruit undergoes around 15 hours of skin contact before pressing, followed by extended lees stirring to build mid-palate texture and complexity. Fermentation takes place predominantly in stainless steel to preserve freshness, with a small portion barrel-fermented to add subtle depth and spice, resulting in a wine that balances vibrancy with richness.


In the glass, the wine opens with lifted aromas of ripe pear, citrus and red apple, framed by sweet floral notes and a refreshing hint of lime. The palate is layered and generous, unfolding with fresh apple and pear alongside nectarine and persimmon, supported by a creamy, finely textured mouthfeel. Gentle spice and lingering warmth carry through to a long, satisfying finish, delivering both elegance and substance in equal measure.

"Babich are one of the longest running producers of Pinot Gris in New Zealand. From several vineyards positioned throughout Marlborough comes this rich, full bodied Pinot Gris which is partially barrel fermented. Pear and ginger followed by orange blossom and apricot. Creamy weight on the entry and initial flavours take the lead from the nose, with pear and ginger to the fore. Also notes of tangerine and some biscuit complexity. A hint of peach schnapps lingers on the finish. – medium dry in style."
