This Pinot Gris is an exceptional example of the varietal, delivering a beautifully balanced wine with striking vibrancy and an impressive array of fresh fruits. The individual parcels were machine harvested in the cool of the night, ensuring the preservation of the delicate fruit flavours. After being crushed and pressed on arrival at the winery, the clear juices were carefully settled and inoculated with aromatic yeast strains. The fermentation process was managed to maintain the fresh, fruity profile, and the resulting wines were blended together to create a harmonious, well-balanced final product.
The wine itself is a yellow straw with flashes of lime green, indicating its youthful vibrancy. The nose is bursting with a blend of strawberry, pear, and stone fruit aromas, while the palate is equally lively, delivering vibrant stone fruit, pear, and lemon zest flavours. Subtle savory and spice undertones add a layer of complexity, making each sip all the more intriguing. The wine is beautifully voluptuous in texture, yet perfectly balanced by a sweet touch of natural fruit acidity, which gives the wine its fresh, crisp finish.
The previous vintage of this wine was awarded 95 points and a Gold Medal at the Wine Showcase Magazine, a testament to its exceptional quality. It also received 93 points at the Melbourne International Wine Competition and was an Award Winner at the same competition. Notably, the winery was also named Trophy Winner for Limestone Coast Winery of the Year at the Melbourne International Wine Competition 2020, underscoring the exceptional craftsmanship behind this wine.
Ideal for pairing with a variety of dishes, this Pinot Gris is particularly well-suited to light seafood, fresh salads, grilled chicken, and vegetarian dishes. It also pairs beautifully with soft cheeses and charcuterie, making it a versatile choice for both casual and more refined occasions.
This Pinot Gris is a standout example of the variety, offering a stunning balance of fruit intensity, freshness, and complexity. Whether enjoyed on its own or paired with food, it’s a wine that delivers a memorable experience.
