Tasting Notes:

The Taylors Wines Estate Chardonnay 2024 is a beautifully balanced South Australian Chardonnay that combines the richness of Padthaway fruit with the elegance and natural acidity of Clare Valley, creating a refined and highly awarded wine that showcases both freshness and creamy complexity. Sourced from 74% Padthaway and 26% Clare Valley fruit, this release reflects the hallmark quality and consistency that has made Taylors one of Australia’s most respected family-owned wineries.

Matured for nine months in French oak barrels ranging from two to six years old, the wine displays a pale straw colour with a delicate green hue, signalling its youthful vibrancy. The bouquet is expressive and layered, revealing aromas of white peach, nectarine and subtle citrus zest intertwined with hints of cashew, cream and gentle toast derived from barrel fermentation and oak maturation.

On the palate, fresh stone fruit flavours unfold alongside creamy cashew and delicate oak spice, delivering a mouth-filling yet finely balanced Chardonnay. A clean, elegant palate and zesty natural acidity provide freshness and structure, while the subtle toastiness and creamy texture create impressive depth and persistence through the long finish. Crafted for immediate enjoyment, the wine also possesses enough balance and structure for short-term cellaring under ideal conditions.

This exceptional Chardonnay has earned significant international acclaim, including an impressive 95-point rating and Trophy for Best of Class at the International Women’s Wine Competition, alongside six International Double Gold and Gold Medals, reinforcing its status as a standout modern Australian Chardonnay.

Perfectly suited to grilled chicken, pan-seared scallops, creamy pasta dishes, roast turkey, baked salmon or soft cheeses, this Chardonnay’s freshness and creamy texture make it an incredibly versatile food wine.
