From a revered single vineyard in McLaren Vale with over 60 years of vine age, The Grail of Lisa Shiraz 2023 is a masterfully crafted wine that captures the soul of its old vine origins. The nose is rich and aromatic, offering ripe blackberry, anise, cracked black pepper, and toasted vanilla. The palate is bold and deeply concentrated, unfolding with flavours of black plum, mocha, mulberry, and savoury spice, all carried by a velvety texture and precise structure.

A portion of grape skins was returned to the wine post-fermentation to enhance the mid-palate and deepen the fruit profile, while maturation in seasoned American oak added warmth and subtle spice. Completed with barrel malolactic fermentation and minimal filtration, this wine is a layered expression of site and season, offering both power and poise.

The 2023 release builds on a legacy of critical acclaim, with the previous vintage rated 96 Points and awarded a Gold Medal by Wine Showcase Magazine, and 92 Points by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. This is a wine of remarkable structure and grace that will cellar beautifully for a decade or more.
