Tasting Notes:

An aromatic nose of ripe blackberry, anise, cracked pepper and toasted vanilla leads into a palate of remarkable concentration. Black plum, mocha and savoury spice unfold with a sense of purpose and grace. Structured yet supple, it will cellar gracefully for a decade or more. 

Technical:

From a revered McLaren Vale vineyard with over 60 years of vine age, the 2023 Grail of Lisa Shiraz captures the essence of site, soil, and season. Matured in seasoned American oak, the wine completed malolactic fermentation in barrel, with a portion of grape skins returned to the wine to deepen the mid-palate and reinforce the expressive fruit profile. The oak influence is carefully judged—offering warmth, spice and integration without overshadowing the wine’s vibrant core of black cherry, mulberry and dark chocolate. Minimally filtered to preserve its natural character, this wine is richly layered yet poised, with velvety tannins and a long, resonant finish.
