A bold crimson red in colour with magenta hues. The nose has rich aromas of violets, black cherries and mulberries with hints of cassis and forest-floor characters. The wine opens with the pretty floral characters of the nose and a rich blackberry edge before progressing to the mocha oak mid palate and finishing with succulent tannins that continue the experience long after the wine has left your mouth.

Technical:

Longstanding relationships with local premium grape growers in the Cowaramup area of the Margaret River wine region provide the fruit that Winemaker Peter Gambetta develops into this world class Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon.Finely structured, beautifully balanced and showing great harmony of characters, Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon consistently combines elegance with power.

93 Point Rated Erin Larkin Halliday Wine Companion

We all know the many accolades this wine has attracted in the past. Interestingly, the fruit is sourced from Margaret River but it's made at Yalumba in SA. The South Australian penchant for American oak (rare in WA) shows, lending the wine a plush bed of texture. The succulent fruit is sensational, thanks to the brilliant 2020 vintage, making for yet another satisfying and value-for-money release from Ringbolt.

92 Point Rated Campbell Mattinson The Winefront

Very happy with this release. Find it at a good price and you’re really onto something. Cassis, plum, vanilla, leaf and dust flavours work up a decent head of steam; rugged, almost burly tannin then rolls through the finish, lending it a certain gravity. Both the overall flavour profile and the volume are decidedly in the drinker’s favour here, given the asking price. You can drink it now but it will certainly cellar too. Value plus. No-brainer territory.
