Tasting Notes:

The colour is a delightful dark ruby-red and the bouquet is full of ripe, dark raspberries, black cherries and lifted florals aromas with raspberries, cherries and plums featuring on the palate. This wine has gentle acidity enhancing the suppleness and accessibility, finishing smoothly to a soft textured, plummy finish.

This flavoursome Marlborough Pinot Noir can be enjoyed with antipasto, pasta, poultry, lean lamb, even fuller fish dishes or desserts slightly chilled in the summer months.

Rata Road is a located deep in the Wairau Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand. It is a gravel s-shaped road that meanders through our beautiful terraced vineyard, rich with an abundance of plant & animal life and views of the stunning native bush filled with Rata trees, neighboring our property.

It is sweetly fruited and elegantly lifted on the nose showing raspberry, strawberry, mixed spice, almond and subtle mushroom characters. The palate is juicy and nicely rounded, delivering attractive fruit intensity together with smooth mouthfeel, finishing pleasingly dry. Well priced and delightfully drinkable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Carrots from An easy drinking Sunday lunch special New Zealand produces middle range Pinoir Noir wines of a most acceptable quality. This Marlborough product is one such wine and does not wreck your bank a/c. My wife is more than happy with my selection. An easy drinking with nicely balanced flavours and a neatly cleaned finish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by John from Fair Value, Marlborough NZ Pinot Noir 2017 I bought some of this Rata Road 2017 Pinot Noir a couple of months ago, I thought it fair value for what I paid, at its new price of $8.90 it is excellent value for money. It is certainly not comfortable over $12.00 a bottle but at $8.90 it is good everyday drinking.
