Tasting Notes:

Introducing the inaugural release of the FU Barossa Valley Pinot Noir 2024, a refined and elegant red crafted with the same meticulous detail and vision that has defined the FU Wines legacy. Sourced from a single vineyard neighbouring the historic Turkey Flat site, where some of Australia’s oldest vines grow, this wine represents a bold step into lighter, more agile territory for a label known for its powerful Shiraz.

The 2024 vintage yielded perfectly ripened fruit, allowing for a selective harvest of small, expressive parcels. Natural fermentation with native yeasts in seasoned vats was followed by gentle maceration and pressing. The wine then matured for six months in new oak barrels, completing malolactic fermentation to build structure and texture without sacrificing freshness. A meticulous barrel selection and minimal filtration preserve the purity of the fruit.

In the glass, this Pinot Noir reveals a delicate bouquet of ripe cherry and strawberry, underpinned by subtle earthy notes and violets, while the palate delivers a silky texture, with red berry flavours supported by a fine thread of cinnamon, clove, and spice. It is a wine of nuance and finesse—lighter than its Shiraz sibling, but no less complex. Designed to age gracefully for 15+ years, this debut Pinot Noir introduces a compelling new dimension to the FU portfolio.

Crafted by a producer known for wines rated up to 99 points by Robert Parker, the FU Pinot Noir 2024 carries that same benchmark for quality—delivering varietal purity and poised elegance.

Pair with duck confit, roasted beet salad, mushroom pâté, or herb-crusted salmon, complementing the wine’s graceful structure and vibrant fruit.
