Tasting Notes:

1x Petaluma Project Co Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 - 14.00% Alc
In the glass, this medium-bodied cool-climate Cabernet Sauvignon shows brooding dark fruits, cassis and black olive, layered with mocha, subtle earthiness and chalky, fine-grained tannins that speak unmistakably of Coonawarra’s famed terra rossa soils. The palate is composed, savoury and elegant, with beautifully resolved oak and a long, confident finish that confirms its museum-release credentials.

2x Monolith Vintners Monolithic Old Vine Barossa Valley Shiraz 2016 - 15.00% Alc
Poured from its wax-sealed, heavy imported bottle, the wine reveals a massive, brooding nose of dark plum, cranberry, saddle leather and scorched earth, evolving into blackcurrant, dark chocolate and spicy pepper. After a long decant, the wine opens to reveal richness and balance, with dense tannins, impressive weight, and an immense palate of black olive, toasted oak, and dried herbs.

1x St Hugo Signature Shiraz Cabernet 2010 - 14.50% Alc
Allowing the wine to breathe will reveal new layers of cedar spice, kirsch, black olive, mocha and crushed herb. The tannins glide softly, fine and elegant, supporting flavours of dark chocolate, cassis and sweet bramble fruit. Cellaring this museum release for another decade promises remarkable reward, as additional layers of complexity soften and silken both grape and oak tannins.

1x Orlando Lawsons Padthaway Shiraz 2013 - 15.00% Alc
The intensity of fruit, layered oak and structural tannin provide the foundation for a long future ahead, and careful cellaring will continue revealing new layers over the next 15–20 years. Today, the palate is breathtakingly complete, with silk-edged richness, chocolate-coated berry depth and a savoury undercurrent of spice, all framed by impressive length. Decanting is recommended to showcase its complexity, especially when pairing with food.

1x St Hugo Single Vineyard Southern Valley Barossa Shiraz 2016 - 14.00% Alc
In the glass, the 2016 vintage opens with dark, seductive aromatics of blackberry, dark cherry and ripe plum, all woven together with subtle hints of spice, oak and a gentle savoury undertone. The palate is rich, full-bodied and impeccably structured, delivering velvety tannins and a balanced natural acidity that lifts the fruit while adding length and finesse. As the wine unfolds, layers of blackcurrant, chocolate and warm spice expand across the palate, culminating in a long, satisfying finish that speaks to both vineyard pedigree and meticulous craftsmanship. Awarded 95 Points by Dave Brookes for the Halliday Wine Companion, this Shiraz demonstrates the depth, elegance and longevity that define St Hugo’s Single Vineyard releases.
