Tasting Notes:

Pale straw with green hues. Intense aromas of fine dried herbs, white flowers, lemons and lime. A long and rich palate, reminiscent of grapefruit, lime and fresh rosemary. The wine finishes with a soft natural acidity which balances the flavour and minerality that is delicious now or will reward medium to long-term cellaring. Enjoy with fresh oysters, seared scallops, salt and pepper squid, Thai beef salad, or a tomato salad with pickled walnuts and fresh basil.

Technical:

Eden Valley experienced its third dry winter in a row. Sufficient rain fell in spring to get the vines growing and the subsequent mild growing and ripening season was perfect for an excellent quality vintage.

Accolades & Awards:

96 Point Rated - James Suckling Tasting Report 2021

"A very fresh, piercing nose of sliced lemon with plenty of sweet perfume, too. The palate is similarly intense and vibrant with white stone-fruit and lemon flavors, delivered in an impressively intense and balanced mode."

96 Point Rated - James Suckling Top 100 Value Wines Of 2021

"It was Australia’s Eden Valley, though, that gave us our No. 1 value wine for the second year in a row with another one of its great-quality Rieslings: the Pewsey Vale Riesling Eden Valley 2021. We found this wine to be so fresh and exhilarating, with intense and balanced flavors of lemon and stone fruit. Besides being delicious, the best thing about it is that it’s priced at an average of $16 and is available just about everywhere! Australian Riesling is one of the best deals in the market today, and this Pewsey Vale is leading the charge in terms of price, quantity and quality."

95 Point Rated - Barossa Wine Show 2021

94 Point Rated - Ray Jordan Wine Pilot

"Year in and year out these wines from the Pewsey Vale vineyard continue to impress. It is of course from one of the great riesling regions with the cooler climate and natural slopes ideal for this variety. This fresh as a daisy riesling from Eden Valley has just so much palate intensity, while retaining a fine sense of delicacy and refinement. There is a massive hit of lemon fragrance from the outset that says riesling, riesling riesling. Then the lemon influence yields to release a mix of spices and dried herbs adding considerable complexity. This carries through to the very long finish with a fine minerally acidity."

Mike Bennie The Wine Front

"Ye olde classic. Floral whiffs, sweet aromatic yeasty notes, scents of sweet citrus and green melon. Flavours are fresh feeling, citrusy, sweet-sour apple flavours, sour-bitter and tangy finish. Feels a bit unresolved right now, a little jangly and nervous with bits poking out, but will do the trick of refreshing drinking and the gist is good."
