Tasting Notes:

Mr Mick Clare Valley Fiano 2025 is a vibrant and expressive white that showcases how beautifully this ancient Italian variety has adapted to South Australia’s Clare Valley. Native to Campania in southern Italy and once close to extinction, Fiano has found a natural home in the Clare Valley’s Mediterranean-like climate, where warm days and cool nights allow the grape to develop both flavour intensity and refreshing natural acidity.

Produced by legendary Clare Valley winemaker Tim Adams and named in honour of the great K.H. “Mick” Knappstein, this wine is handcrafted at the historic Leasingham Winery. The fruit was harvested in the cool of early morning to preserve aromatics, then gently pressed, cold settled and slowly fermented at low temperatures to build texture while maintaining purity.

In the glass it reveals lifted aromas of passionfruit pulp, citrus and ripe stone fruit, complemented by a subtle herbal note of fresh sage. The palate is generous and textural, flowing with flavours of peach, citrus and delicate tropical nuances. Bright acidity brings balance and energy, finishing clean and savoury with impressive length.

Naturally food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled fish, creamy pasta, roast chicken or herb-seasoned pork dishes, making it a versatile white for modern Australian dining.
