Picked early to naturally maintain lower alcohol and enhance freshness and longevity, the fruit benefited from a slower, cooler 2024 growing season. Harvest occurred three to four weeks later than the previous year, but a long, dry autumn allowed the grapes to hang on the vine and ripen evenly, delivering exceptional flavour concentration. In the winery, the juice was left on full solids for a week prior to fermentation — a deliberate technique used to build mid-palate texture and richness, which is the hallmark of great Pinot Gris.

In the glass, the wine opens with crunchy apple and lifted floral aromas, underpinned by a subtle flinty edge that hints at its cool-climate origin. The palate is elegant and finely textured, flowing with pristine fruit flavours that lean toward lime zest, brioche-tinged pear and crisp orchard fruit. This release earned 92 points from Sam Kim at Wine Orbit, reinforcing its quality and precision, while the previous vintage received 94 points from Tony Love in the James Halliday Wine Companion, highlighting the consistency and pedigree of the La Bise Pinot Gris style.
