Tasting Notes:

An elegant expression of purity and place, the St Hugo Eden Valley Riesling 2025 celebrates both the legacy and innovation of one of Australia’s most respected winemaking houses. Named in honour of Hugo Gramp, grandson of the pioneering Johann Gramp who founded Gramp & Sons in 1847, St Hugo continues to embody a deep respect for the land and a commitment to excellence that has defined the brand since its first vintage in 1980.

This vintage draws from the finest Eden Valley vineyards, carefully selected after extensive berry tasting throughout the ripening season. In the glass, it presents a pale, light-yellow hue, revealing pristine aromatics of floral blossom, lavender, and citrus zest. The palate is dry, taut, and intensely flavoured, showing lime, white pepper, and a touch of talc, supported by vibrant minerality and crisp acidity. It’s a beautifully balanced Riesling of structure and precision, with a long, lingering finish that is both textural and refreshing.

Superb when enjoyed young and bright, it will also reward short-term cellaring for up to 18 months, developing further complexity and richness. The wine’s zesty and dry character makes it a perfect match for fresh seafood, sashimi, Thai salads, or Asian-inspired dishes, where its lively acidity complements delicate flavours perfectly.
