Tasting Notes:

The T’Gallant Cape Schanck Pinot Noir 2024 captures the elegance and complexity of cool-climate winemaking, crafted from a multi-regional blend sourced across the Yarra Valley, Henty, and Mornington Peninsula. T’Gallant, whose name originates from the sailor’s “topgallant” sail symbolising the peak or the best, continues to embody its philosophy of pursuing quality without compromise. Under the guidance of winemaker Adam Carnaby, European-inspired techniques are applied with precision, resulting in a Pinot Noir of finesse, purity, and balance.

In the glass, it reveals a lifted, perfumed nose of ripe red berries and forest floor, nuanced with hints of smoked meats and subtle spice. The palate is graceful yet structured, combining flavours of dark cherry, redcurrant and gamey complexity with fine, silky tannins that glide smoothly to a long, elegant finish. This is a wine that beautifully reflects its diverse regional origins while maintaining a seamless house style that T’Gallant has pioneered.

Perfect alongside classic Pinot Noir pairings such as roast duck, mushroom risotto, or crispy-skinned salmon, it also holds its own against heartier dishes like roast lamb. With T’Gallant’s Pinot Noir already recognised with 95 points from James Halliday, the 2024 vintage continues the legacy of one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most pioneering wineries, delivering a wine of exceptional depth and drinkability.
