The 2022 Normans Holbrooks Road Cabernet Sauvignon is a standout expression of South Australian Cabernet, crafted by one of Australia’s oldest and most respected wineries — Normans Wines, established in 1853.

In the glass, it shows a deep red-purple colour, hinting at the richness to follow. The nose is lush and complex, offering vibrant red berry aromas layered with savory pepper and a touch of subtle oak spice. On the palate, this Cabernet is opulent and mouth-filling, with bright red berry fruit and hints of capsicum, a varietal hallmark. It’s a fruit-driven style with a savory edge, supported by clean tannins and well-integrated soft oak, adding length and balance to the wine’s vibrant core.

Meticulously vinified, the fruit was picked in the cool of night and fermented for seven days using a mix of static potters and rotary fermenters. Warm fermentation temperatures and a three-day post-ferment maceration enhanced fruit depth and tannin structure. Select parcels were matured with seasoned French oak to build complexity while keeping the primary fruit character intact.
