Tasting Notes:

A combination of small berries with a dense vineyard canopy gives this wine a distinctive Adelaide Hills character of ripe fruit with a distinctive cool climate edge.

Technical:

La Bise is French for the kiss and is the name given to a Southerly wind that blows over burgundy just before harvest so giving the vines the kiss of life. The best vintages of Burgundy are often attributed to a strong La Bise. Shiraz from the northern area of Adelaide Hills in the Amadio vineyard between Williamstown and Kersbrook. The vineyard lies at 330 meters altitude. This is a single vineyard wine taken from one of my favourite Shiraz blocks in the region. Picked early in the vineyard to give the wines that are lower in alcohol by nature as this is believed t0 give better drinkability and longevity.

12yo vines in the north of the Adelaide Hills at 330m. Full crimson-purple; a fragrant bouquet and a fresh, vibrant palate looking more like 13% than 14%; red cherry, spice and blood plum flavours are anchored on a bed of fine tannins.
