Tasting Notes:

Introducing the little brother of FU, the 2021 FU2. FUS is inky red/black in colour with vibrant purple hues. It has great intensity and depth which is typical of the FU style. The aroma is truly distinctive, with rich dark chocolate, berry coulis, leather, and cinnamon. The palate is textural with powerful fruit flavours and silky soft tannins providing a rich mouthful of wine. The balanced tannins perfectly complement the influential fruit characters. The flavours mirror the complex set of aromas, toffee and spice with a big berry hit. A truly distinctive FU style from an outstanding vintage will ensure this wine is still drinking well with the best Australia has to offer well into the next decade.

Technical:

The 2021 Barossa Valley experienced mild conditions of generally below-average temperatures for the entire growing season, making for an elegant and classic vintage boasting the best acidities in many years. Quality was said to be exceptional across every variety, with reds showing great density of colour and flavour and whites pristine aromatics, finesse, and high natural acidity. One top maker declared it the best odd-year vintage since 1991. FU2 2021 Shiraz was sourced from a single vineyard as made to hold all the characteristics FU drinkers are accustomed to, big, and bold.
