Tasting Notes:

The 2022 Fantini Mont.D'Abruzzo from Farnese Vini in Abruzzo, Italy, is a true expression of the terroir and the vintage. On the nose, this wine greets you with enticing aromas of ripe red berries, black cherries, and a hint of earthy spices. On the palate, the wine is well-structured with a medium body and smooth tannins. The bright acidity is balanced by the juicy fruit flavours, making it a perfect pairing for a variety of dishes from rich pasta dishes to grilled meats. The deep ruby colour hints at the complexity and depth of this wine, while the long, lingering finish leaves a pleasant impression. This wine is a testament to the quality and craftsmanship of Farnese Vini, and a must-try for any wine lover.

Technical:

The vineyards are situated around the towns of Ortona, San Salvo and Pollutri on the Adriatic coast of the Abruzzo region. Facing south east, vines are planted on a mix of clay and limestone soils and are trained on both guyot and pergola systems.

Once the grapes arrives at the winery, they are gently crushed and de-stemmed. The grapes macerates at cold temperature for four days. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 24-26° C for 8-10 days.
