Tasting Notes:

The Pinot Noir grapes used to create this juicy red wine were harvested from lush vineyards in Tasmania. Gently crushed and wild fermented, the wine was made with minimal intervention. Catch Cry Pinot Noir 2013 contains a 13.5% alcohol level, displaying bold colours and a full-flavoured palate. Spicy and floral aromas flow off the gentle bouquet, while the palate is packed with ripe flavours of plum, black cherry and firm oak. These intense fruit characters intermix with the velvety tannins to provide a satisfying and appealing finale. With a cellaring potential of 2 to 4 years, this marvelous wine pairs well with roasted chicken, salmon, pasta and game birds.

Technical:

Founded in 1988 by Grant Burge and his wife Helen, Grant Burge Wines is listed amongst the most prestigious wineries of the Barossa region. The Burges have been living in Barossa Valley since 1855, making Grant a fifth-generation vigneron with decades of experience and winemaking techniques at his disposal. 90 Points James Halliday

"A fair reflection of the undoubted synergy between Tasmania and pinot. It has black cherry, some plum, and as yet firm oak and tannins."

Highly Rated, Australian Wine Review

"Another new release from the Grant Burge backed Vignerons of the World. This was wild fermented and made with minimal intervention using whole berries. A ‘muscular Pinot’ apparently."

Recommended, Winewise

"This one is definitely pushed to the solid end. It's firm and muscular but that will suit some red wine drinkers."

Pinot Noir from the Eastern Tasmania tend to a mix of red berry, deeper dark fruit characteristics, which gives this area of Tasmania the upper hand when it comes to making lighter complex styles of wine. these pinots still have a large presence on the palate with structured acidity and rich minerality.
