The Juniper Estate Crossing Margaret River Original Red 2022 is a beautifully crafted Margaret River blend that showcases the elegance, structure and regional character that have made this world-class wine region famous. Produced by Juniper Estate, one of Margaret River’s oldest and most respected vineyards, this premium blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot to create a wine of impressive depth, balance and sophistication.
The outstanding 2022 vintage delivered exceptional fruit quality, with warm, dry ripening conditions producing concentrated flavours and remarkable varietal expression. The bouquet bursts with cassis, blackberry and dark plum aromas, layered with cocoa powder, vanilla and subtle spice. On the palate, generous plum and redcurrant fruit take centre stage, supported by hints of cedar, crushed spice and finely integrated French oak. Smooth and elegant, the wine displays lovely length, fine-grained tannins and the classic refinement that defines great Margaret River reds.
Matured for a minimum of 12 months in French barriques and hogsheads, this wine delivers both immediate appeal and the structure for further development in bottle. Awarded 92 Points by Ray Jordan and produced by a prestigious 5 Red Star James Halliday-rated winery, it is a superb match for roast lamb, grilled beef, mushroom dishes, charcuterie and aged cheeses.
92 Point Rated Ray Jordan Winepilot
''The warm ‘22 vintage has delivered plenty of solid, rich fruit to this classic blend. This is a Cabernet dominant blend, with the firm varietal core driving the structure of a pleasing and flavoursome red. The Merlot adds plenty of mid-palate flesh, with a mix of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, and a slightly black olive nuance that completes this tidy value wine."
90 Point Rated - Aaron Brasher The Real Review
"Really youthful in the glass. Pretty aromas of bramble, cassis, dried herbs, spice and dark cherry. Firm, fleshy, dark fruited and textured, with an impressive drive of savoury, shapely tannins. Smart value."
Jane Faulkner - James Halliday Wine Companion
"Everything as it should be here, matched to a keen price. It’s all blackberries and red fruits, woodsy spices plus milk chocolate and mint. Not complex but just right with its ripe, grainy tannins and easy-drinking appeal."
