Technical:

Bay of Fires aims to showcase cool climate varietal wines from Tasmania, displaying their fruit intensity, refinement and persistence of flavour. This Pinot Noir is evolving as vineyard resources are explored and developed. The philosophy is to nurture elegance while also developing the ripe flavour profiles and intense fruit characteristics evident in the individual vineyards. Basket pressing and separate handling of fruit parcels and ferments allows for a final blend of great complexity. Blending grapes grown in different parts of Tasmania translates to an ideal balance of elegance, richness and depth of flavour.

Accolades & Awards:

96 Point Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review

"Tapping into vineyards across Tasmania, this from the valleys of Coal River and Derwent districts north and northwest of Hobart. Built to a varietal style, darker cherries and kitchen herb aromas plus dark rose before the palate receives some Deep, bright red-purple colour, a very promising colour. The bouquet is powerful, laced with smoky reduction and layered with nutty and dark cherry characters. The wine is full and plush on the tongue, with silky tannins, sweet fruit core and an utterly delicious flavour profile. Great balance, length and immediate charm. Gorgeous wine."

94 Point Rated - Tony Love Wine Pilot

"Tapping into vineyards across Tasmania, this from the valleys of Coal River and Derwent districts north and northwest of Hobart. Built to a varietal style, darker cherries and kitchen herb aromas plus dark rose before the palate receives some complexity with wooded spice notes that add texture as well as a sweet spot mid-length, a soft, feathery feel in the denouement. It all comes together as a logical and finished expression."
